Job Description
You’ll join a stable, growth-oriented accounting practice where your expertise directly impacts client satisfaction and business operations. This role combines core bookkeeping responsibilities with administrative support, giving you diverse experience while working with cutting-edge cloud-based accounting software. You’ll have the autonomy to manage critical compliance deadlines and the opportunity to expand your responsibilities as you demonstrate your capabilities.

Responsibilities:
- Process VAT returns and ensure MTD (Making Tax Digital) compliance for multiple clients
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping records using QuickBooks Online
- Handle payroll processing using BrightPay online software
- Process receipts and expenses through DEXT software integration with QuickBooks
- Prepare basic management accounts and support fee proposal generation
- Draft and manage client engagement letters using established templates
- Conduct GDPR risk assessments for clients using proven frameworks
- Handle administrative correspondence and client email management
- Support monthly newsletter preparation and distribution
- Maintain client databases and update annual risk assessments
Requirements:
- Previous experience with UK accounting practices and procedures, plus proficiency in QuickBooks Online and payroll software.
- Understand UK VAT regulations and MTD requirements, with strong written English communication skills for client correspondence.
- Detail-oriented, committed to confidentiality, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment with minimum 20 hours per week availability.
- Bonus if you have BrightPay experience, DEXT software knowledge, or additional administrative software skills.
