Job Description

You’ll step into a role where you can make an immediate, measurable impact. This painting business needs someone to tackle 18-24 months of backlogged Xero entries and then maintain accurate, timely records going forward. You’ll work directly with the business owner to bring their quarterly BAS statements current and build a foundation for continued growth. This is your chance to take ownership of a complete bookkeeping transformation.

 

Responsibilities:

• Complete Xero data entry for 18-24 months of backlogged transactions
• Review and verify previous bookkeeping work that was started but not completed
• Prepare and submit outstanding quarterly BAS statements to bring the business current
• Establish and maintain ongoing monthly bookkeeping processes
• Perform regular Xero inputs and transaction categorization
• Ensure all financial records meet Australian compliance requirements
• Collaborate directly with the business owner on financial organization and processes

 

Requirements:

• Proficient experience with Xero accounting software
• Knowledge of Australian bookkeeping practices and BAS requirements
• Experience with catch-up bookkeeping and cleaning up backlogged records
• Strong attention to detail for reviewing and verifying previous work
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Bonus if you have experience with painting/trades business transactions
• It helps if you’ve worked with solo business owners before
