Job Description:
We’re seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to bring order and efficiency to our multi-national financial operations. This role offers the unique opportunity to work with an international organization that manages complex cross-border transactions while supporting meaningful cultural initiatives. You’ll play a crucial role in streamlining financial processes across multiple entities, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and providing valuable insights that directly impact our ability to organize impactful events and programs. Responsibilities:
- Process and categorize financial transactions including receipts, invoices, and bank transfers across multiple organizational entities
- Create and maintain comprehensive Excel spreadsheets with clear income and expense categorization
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and organize financial records for quarterly submissions to local accountants
- Handle retroactive bookkeeping projects including historical bank statement reviews
- Provide budget monitoring and financial oversight reporting to leadership
- Generate regular financial reports highlighting spending patterns and organizational financial health
- Monitor budgets and provide proactive alerts for potential overspending or budget variances
- Maintain organized accounting records across different company entities in various countries
- Support the team during peak event seasons with increased transaction volume4
Requirements:
- 1-2 years of bookkeeping experience with strong foundational knowledge
- Excellent proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets for financial record management
- Strong English communication skills (additional European languages a plus)
- Experience with financial categorization, reconciliation, and basic reporting
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision
- Flexibility to handle variable workloads ranging from 5-40 hours per week based on seasonal needs
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Basic understanding of multi-entity bookkeeping concepts
- Comfortable working with international financial operations
