Job Description: You’ll be the financial backbone for a dynamic music management operation, handling everything from venue payment processing to artist contractor management. This role offers unique exposure to the entertainment industry’s financial operations while working with a supportive client who prioritizes training and professional development. You’ll have the opportunity to grow alongside an expanding practice that’s scaling from one client to multiple entertainment industry accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Record and categorize financial transactions in QuickBooks Online for touring artists and venue payments
- Calculate commission percentages and revenue recognition from major venue contracts
- Process bi-weekly contractor payments to international artists and band members (10+ payments every 2-3 weeks)
- Prepare and manage 1099 tax forms during tax season and maintain W-9 documentation
- Reconcile bank statements and American Express credit card transactions
- Categorize expenses between company operations and artist reimbursements
- Handle payment recipient setup for international wire transfers and payment platforms
- Draft professional email communications under client supervision
- Support general administrative tasks and financial documentation organization
- Assist with seasonal workload management during peak touring periods
Requirements:
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and basic accounting principles
- Experience with 1099 preparation and tax document management
- Strong attention to detail for payment processing and financial reconciliation
- Comfortable with international payment processing and multi-currency transactions
- Excellent written communication skills for client correspondence
- Self-motivated learner who asks questions and seeks guidance when needed
- Bonus if you have experience in entertainment industry accounting or contractor management
- It helps if you’re familiar with payment platforms like Wise or international banking systems
