Job Description:
You’ll play a pivotal role in building the operational foundation for a company operating in one of Canada’s most safety-critical industries. This unique position combines traditional administrative excellence with specialized safety compliance work, giving you the opportunity to create essential business documents from the ground up while supporting day-to-day operations. You’ll work directly with leadership to develop comprehensive policies and procedures that ensure both operational efficiency and regulatory compliance in challenging industrial environments.
Responsibilities:
- Create comprehensive policy and procedure manuals for mining and construction site operations
- Develop detailed training manuals and employee handbooks from scratch
- Complete job safety analysis forms and safety-related documentation
- Generate daily operational reports and maintain accurate project documentation
- Update spreadsheets and Word documents for ongoing business operations
- Support employee benefits enrollment processes and HR administrative functions
- Perform regular data entry tasks and maintain organized databases
- Create operational checklists and standardized procedures for field operations
- Support ongoing administrative functions as the business scales
Requirements:
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with administrative tasks and professional document creation
- Excellent written communication skills for manual and policy development
- Detail-oriented approach to data entry and documentation management
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple concurrent projects
- Bonus if you have knowledge of Canadian safety standards and regulations
- It helps if you’re familiar with WorkSafe BC requirements and Canadian Standards Act
- Experience in HR administrative functions is a plus
- Understanding of safety protocols for construction and mining environments preferred
